Some say desperation can be the inspiration for success. As a child, I was a nerdy type. I loved and I still do love to learn. I grew up in segregated schools, and I was a straight-A student. I shook the hand of Dr. Martin Luther King when he came to my city to desegregate the schools through a boycott and to help get the first Black mayor of a major city elected. But I also wanted to fit into the "In-Crowd,” and I made some horrible decisions at 16 years of age that left me pregnant, unmarried, and desperately alone. In desperation, I made an even worse decision trying to cover my shame and I ended up in an abusive marriage. I was still trying to "look" like things were normal and by then I had two children to take care of. I was in that situation of no help, and little hope, in utter desperation and on my way to depression. I heard a song one day and that song became my daily affirmation. "I can do bad by myself; I don't need no help to starve to death"! Finally, I "woke" up! I fled the situation, meaning I left everything, and I lost the rest. But what stayed with me was the deep pain of shame and utter humiliation that was eating away at my self-esteem, my self-worth, and my finances. I had a pretty good job; I was a budding professional woman, but I would leave work each day and cry on the way home. I felt abandoned, abused, and alone. And I realized that song I heard had come true. Even after a difficult divorce from a marriage nightmare, I was still doing badly all by myself!

Then after wise professional counseling that helped in my recovery from several addictions, I found the love of my life...God. God’s love pulled me from the shadow of death, and I started to study and take care of myself again. With God as my guide, I was led on mind-boggling journeys. I was placed in situations that some can only dream of or have nightmares about. But I kept trying to chart my path to God's plan for my life. God helped me raise my children and healed my heart for a real marital relationship with a real man. One thing I learned...your decision-making can determine whether your journey to greatness is 4 days or 40 years. Well, my poor decisions made my journey 40 years, but God! He made every year a learning experience filled with a mixture of "truth or consequences", and he downloaded the understanding that I had to love the "Journey" as much as I loved Him as "The Journey Maker". This was my way through hell and into freedom from being locked up in an emotional jail and placed on “my” path to Success. I realized the reason I was born and given this heartfelt mission is: To Help You! Your emotional wellness and success are my passion and my unique call!

Yes, I stumbled my way through those "death valley days", and I discovered “my” path to success and the reason I was born...To help you break the chains of trauma, drama, toxic connections, and bad decisions and recuperate from discouragement and disappointment and break through roadblocks and setbacks to your freedom. Freedom to be your unique you, walking in purpose on your path to success also.
